About this morning's outage

This morning we experienced a complete site outage for 45 minutes .
Our normal practice is to extend affected auctions to ensure sellers can realise their best price and buyers get the opportunity to place their best bid. We originally announced that we intended to extend auctions, as per our normal practice.
Due to a related technical issue, we were not able to successfully extend auctions after this morning's outage. We are looking into how to better ensure auctions are reliably extended in the event of a site outage.
Our team takes our responsibility to keep the Trade Me site up and fast very seriously and we apologise unreservedly for any impact the events of this morning had on our buyers or sellers.
