Improved search results

We’ve been making some tweaks to search results when you do a keyword search from the homepage. At this stage we’re running it as a trial and 50% of members who are logged in will be seeing the changes.

The aim of these tweaks is to try and serve up the most relevant set of search results for you. Without getting into the technical guff, some clever cookies here at Trade Me have been working on an algorithm that ticks away in the background to deliver these results. The nature of this means we might not get it right 100% of the time, but hopefully the results you do see will be pretty close to the mark.

We’ll be monitoring how the trial goes for members and if things are looking good, it’s likely we’ll roll this out to all members in the future. Watch this space!
