You are welcome to arrange to collect your purchase, but please contact us immediately after the auction closes to arrange this.

If we freight your purchase to you, we will do so as soon after the auction as we can. Freight is calculated on an individual auction basis. Freight costs will be added to the cost of your purchase. We will provide you with all the information regarding your order as soon as we place the order for shipping.

Once the appropriate freight company has picked up an order, a consignment number is issued, and will be given to you so you can track your shipment if necessary. The freight companies we use are very reputable and all care is taken in getting your order to you promptly.

Freight companies require a contact phone number to verify that someone is there to accept the order. It is your responsibility to make arrangements for delivery, and to have adequate manpower to offload your purchase.

Rarely, there may be certain circumstances beyond the control of Jacks (mechanical failure, holidays, etc.) which disrupt us getting your purchase to you as swiftly as we would like. We will always endeavour to keep you informed of any delays or problems that occur during shipment.

Acceptance of Delivery Please hand write clearly on the consignment docket you receive from the freight company if an item arrives damaged. You must check your purchase thoroughly before signing the docket. If you do not, we have no way of claiming for any damage.

Return, Repair or Refund Policy In most cases, the equipment we sell has a useful life measured in decades, not just years. Jacks have been in business for more than 75 years, so the majority of our customers have dealt with us before, often many times. They come back because they receive good service and fair treatment. The best guarantee that Jacks will treat you fairly is our interest in your next machine, and the next.

New goods Unless otherwise agreed with you in writing, the Jacks warranty covers any new goods we supply for at least 12 months of normal operation from date of dispatch to you. We promise that the goods will comply with the manufacturer's specifications as at the date of manufacture and will be free of defective materials or workmanship. If, for whatever reason, we have not kept this promise, we will at our option, repair, modify or replace the goods or exchange them for a full refund. The Jacks warranty is not limited to the replacement of parts: we will also pay for the cost of materials, labour and freight.

To be protected by this warranty:

1.You must pay for the goods on whatever basis was agreed 2. You must not make repairs, replacements or modifications without our prior agreement. 3. You must notify us of any defect within 7 days of its appearance, so we have a chance to fix it. 4. If parts are being replaced, you must give us the option of having the parts returned to our store, freight paid, for evaluation of your claim. 5. You must lodge any claim not later than 30 days after the warranty period expires.

Second-hand goods Please be aware that all secondhand machinery is sold on an ‘as is’ basis. As per the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, s 42(7), ‘as is’ means “the plant is sold without any representations or warranties about its quality, durability, or fitness, and with the entire risk in those respects to be borne by the buyer”.

Appropriate Use We will not refund if you simply 'change your mind’ or the item was not what you imagined it to be. Because Jacks cannot be aware of the precise purposes every individual customer may intend for the goods, it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that their functionality will be suitable for your particular purpose. Please ask all questions before bidding.

We are confident you will be completely satisfied with any purchase you make from Jacks. We operate a dedicated spare parts and service team which can be contacted any time during business hours Monday to Friday on our freephone line.
