Retail NZ is the peak body for retailers in New Zealand and are here to make the voice of retailers heard and make running a business easier. We help retailers succeed through providing advice, support, resources, templates and advocate on behalf of retailers throughout Aotearoa. We currently have an interesting Membership Sales opportunity available in our Central Wellington office.

This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop new strategy. The Membership Sales role is responsible for day-to-day contact with Retail NZ SME members.  This role is crucial in Retail NZ's focus on growing our SME membership. With a focus on connecting with potential and existing customers over the phone to inform potential members about products and services, answer questions and close sales.  This role requires an excellent communicator with superior people skills and someone who is comfortable with presenting concepts, products and services over the phone.

About you:

• A self-starter with proven experience as a telephone sales representative or in a similar sales/customer service role.
• Track record of successfully meeting sales quotas, preferably over the phone.
• Good knowledge of relevant computer programs?(including Microsoft Office suite and CRM software) and telephone systems.
• Ability to learn about products and services?and describe/explain them to prospects.
• Excellent English language skills, including verbally and business written communications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can easily establish a good rapport with people from a variety of cultural and business backgrounds over the phone.
• Outstanding negotiation skills?with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints.
• Excellent attention to detail and understands processes and the importance of following these.
• Results driven and disciplined, will keep going to achieve desired results.
• Cool-tempered, resilient?and able to handle rejection.
• Tenacity to keep going.
• Will seek out opportunities that help Retail NZ deliver on its vision and purpose.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

This is a full time role, 9am - 5pm. An immediate start is available.
