Mo te tunga | About the role

The role of Lead Service Manager in Whanganui is collectively responsible for the oversight of the region, though their focus will be more on successfully leading a team of Service Managers and driving the overall delivery of Community Corrections services within the region.

This role offers you the opportunity to showcase your capability in driving high performance through the motivation and encouragement of others to succeed in our goal of reducing reoffending. It will provide you with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others in your community.

Your focus will be on supporting Community Probation teams in the Taranaki/Whanganui/Manawatu region in the high quality management of community based sentences and the provision of expert advice to the NZ Parole Board and Courts. In addition, you will provide a greater oversight of operational delivery in the efficient use of resources to meet the needs of the people in our care and minimise risk. You will also be creating or leading quality improvement initiatives across the region so the ability to think innovatively is paramount.

With courage and professionalism you will ensure statutory obligations are met with the highest levels of integrity. Through the development of effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, you will encourage collaboration to ensure the people in our care remain at the centre of our efforts and victims at the centre of our concern.

This is a key role leading a team of Service Managers so your proven strength in developing and mentoring people leaders will need to be showcased.
