Description
5 years old
We are in the difficult position where we need to rehome our 5 year old border collie, Evie. We have had a major change in family circumstances and sadly can’t offer Evie the time and energy she needs.
Evie is loyal and loving and has been part of our family for 5 years. She does have some typical border collie traits - barking at birds and buses etc, and prefers to be around humans rather than other dogs. We have invested a lot of time training her and she has come such a long way, but we no longer have the time she needs.
Evie prefers to not be around small dogs or young children that pull her fur and get in her face, as this makes her anxious, so you need to be able to read her body language. Evie loves going everywhere with you but also is happy to be left at home a few hours here and there if needed. She loves 1-2x 40min walks each day although can go for a ~30min run too if you prefer. Evie is a lovely natured border collie when she is not put in environments that make her nervous.
We have family helping us with Evie for now but we need a longer term solution soon. We want to take our time to find the right new owner for Evie to make sure you are the right fit to give her a happy life. The ideal new owner will love and understand border collies, especially border collies that are anxious so they can continue her training and not put her in environments that she doesn’t go well in. It is important to us that Evie isn’t left at home all day while someone goes to work, and that she gets plenty of love and time from someone.
If anyone thinks they could be the right fit for Evie, or if you have any advice on how we can find the right new owner, we would be so grateful if you get in touch with us.
Please message us about you and your home, as we want Evie to be matched with the right person.
Evie is Christchurch based currently
