The Hallway/Sofa console was handcrafted from native New Zealand Totara wood. Totara is one of New Zealand's most long-lasting, durable timbers, resistant to rot, and with a straight grain. The Totara slab used was supplied by NZ Native Timbers, known for supplying wood from wind-blown trees already dead or on the ground, thereby actively assisting in conserving New Zealand’s native bush. The Hallway/Sofa console was designed to showcase the tree's natural beauty, it features a live edge on the top shelf, displaying both sapwood and heartwood. The top, legs, and bottom strut were all cut from the same slab, ensuring a seamless and harmonious look. The console was treated with Briwax oil to enhance the natural beauty of the Totara wood and polished with Beeswax to produce a subtle sheen.
