CEM70G purchased in August 2020, including a 10kg counterweight. Only used a small number of times on my backyard pier. No tripod. This is NOT the encoder version of the mount.

I have been looking at an EQ6R Pro and these can be had for about $3500 including the Tripod. the IOptron Tri Pier is about 3K from First Light Optics. if your mount was combined with a Tri Pier its getting to about 8K. what are your thoughts on all this ? b*******9 (84 • 7:32 pm, Thu, 23 MayHi there, Astronz has the tri pier for about $1400. I have never used an EQ6R, but I did have an EQ6 many years ago. Its build quality was not great and the mount itself was quite heavy. I didn’t like its tripod, it felt cheap. The things that attracted me to this mount, the ioptron, were it’s powered usb hub, the fact the mount itself was only around 10kg, and the in built guide scope, which would go well with my imaging Newtonian scope. I also found the polar alignment scope very handy hegeron (95 • Thursday, 23 May 2024Thanks Hegron. perhaps that is a smaller pier from ASTRO NZ ? First Light Optics has them but at about 3K. unsure if its the same pier. I have a skywatcher AZ/EQ5 Pro and some refractors and the weight is not too bad. I understand the EQ6R Pro is heavier.
