Description
Blacksmith’s Hardy hole tool, for use attached to an anvil. May be called a swage tool, for shaping metal rod Has 10 slots for different diameter rod. Assuming it was made to imperial sizing, it seems to go from 1/2” down to about 5/32” (4mm), as best as I can tell. Face is 275mm long and 50mm wide. Height 245mm Good quality old engineering steel. There seems to be a hardline crack in the steel under the face, but the face itself is flat. It rings when hit with a hammer, doesn’t sound hollow. See photos. The end that goes into the hardy hole has a square cross-section, with measurements shown in last photo.
Weighs less than 10kg. Can be posted anywhere in NZ for around $15. Or pickup Sandringham, Auckland.
