The Opportunity

We need a keen and motivated Asphalt Plant / Machine Operator to join the Fulton Hogan team at our Asphalt Plant - based at our Hamilton depot.

Your primary tasks will be focused on training for your new role, then operating our asphalt plant. You will be part of a highly knowledgeable and experienced team and, once trained, will rotate daily tasks regularly with them. This means you will have a good amount of variety to your day and will be able to; operate the asphalt plant, operator the loader & excavator, bag EZ Street product, load customers and perform basic daily maintenance. Also with a brand new asphalt plant just around the corner, you will have the chance to be able work and operate a new toy!

To be successful in this role, you will:

The candidate will be able to work well with others and have a mind for health and safety while you are working. You will enjoy getting stuck in with your team and take pride in the products you are producing. You will also have:

  • WTR & forklift endorsement
  • 3 years + operating a loader
  • Asphalt knowledge & experience
  • Class 2 licence (preferred but not essential)
  • Confidence with computers and numbers
  • Desire to learn and pick up new skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Mechanically and practically minded
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Being a team player, self-motivated and take pride in your work
  • Passion and commitment to safety in the workplace
