Yamaha XJ650 with 750 engine 1980

1980 Yamaha XJ650 project bike with XJ750 engine.

Update 17/05 : compression test done 135, 135,135 and 105 on cylinder 4. I don’t have time for this motorcycle anymore so $1 reserve it is.

Plates not live, but have original.

Engine runs but carbs need tuning, have ridden it down the road but not had it running perfect. There is a wrecker in Chch with carbs available at the moment. I just no longer have time for this bike sadly.

Needs some wiring tidied up, tuned properly and brake light and indicators.

Bike is sold AIWI as a project

Brat/cafe racer style.

Please note this bike is de-reg. Have original de-reg plate so this can be used for re-reg. A true classic with shaft driven engine/diff.

Lots of money and time spent to on this bike, have owned it for a few years. Have since bought a Triumph which I’m busy riding so this project needs to go. Haven’t touched it in the last 6 months.

(Behind suspension mounts, no cert required) Custom headlight and speedo mount. New horn

Plenty more cables and fittings etc have been replaced.

Slowly chipping away at this so if the bike gets further along the path to completion the price will be adjusted accordingly.

No swaps. Pick up is in Sumner, Christchurch.
