Very nostalgic for me too. I’ve added 4x pics of Trypticon. I don’t have any of the large (C or D) batteries to try but will see what I can do in the next couple of days. Note broken lug on chest which is in the car that attaches, possibly could be salvaged. If it walks I reckon that it will be a gold nugget in amongst this collection of Transformers toys! The anticipation of finding out if this Trypticon walks is giving me goosebumps. Trypticon was actually first released for sale here in NZ in 1986 but I saw it for sale the following year in 1987. It’s certainly quite remarkable that the electronics still work after all these years. The fact that it walks certainly puts it on another level compared to all the other Transformers that you have listed in this auction. Added a picture, in the 9v battery housing the connector is jammed into the hinged chest cover. I’m sure it can be pulled out and the body is only held by 2 screws. I’m reluctant to pull it apart to retrieve the connector but I’m confident it could be done. On that basis I’m unable to confirm if electronics work. andyc023 (4) • Thursday, 9 May 2024
