Description
Fast and stable K1 racing kayak designed for junior paddlers. The Guppie can be used for competitive sprinting by kids up to the age of 14 years. Ideal to get the young generation into K1 paddling. These have a big following in South Africa. Most of South Africa’s top paddlers started out in a guppy.
414cm length x 15cm height x 48cm width x spec weight about 11kg in fibreglass layup. Super lightweight and easy to move around.
This is a really well designed boat for youth paddlers, it has a flatter bottom than many K1 boats so the initial stability is good, but it is fast and light enough for paddlers to immediately see speed improvements as their skill builds.
This has been a great boat for my son to get into kayaking but he has moved into a larger boat now. Time to move it along! Offers welcome.
Any questions, ask away. Pickup from Little Shoal Bay, Birkenhead or I can deliver in Auckland (within about 1hr drive from Birkenhead) for $10 or we can work out fuel cost further out up to about a 2hr drive. Further than that we can arrange shipping through roofspace.co.nz or you can have someone pick up on behalf. In any case we would like to move this out within about 10 days of auction closing so we can clear out the rack space. Happy bidding!

Hi Andrew, I'm looking for a boat that I can transport in my camper and this fits. Can an adult at 75kgs paddle one of these? Have you tried? Paddling skill no problem as paddled K1. Thanks Conan p*************n (155 • 6:53 pm, Sat, 4 May )Hi, thanks for the question, I cannot find a spec for this model on max paddler weight but I seem to remember about 55kg was the max listed somewhere. The deck is pretty low so there is not much extra capacity if you top it out. Leg length is meant to be for kids up to age 14 so you may be too tall (the foot plate could be extended for a bit of extra length though). How large a space do you have for transport in the camper? I might have another kayak (not listed on TradeMe) that could work 👍 ab1248 (286 • Saturday, 4 May 2024 )Hi Andrew, My nelo quattro at 5.2 will not fit, all my other boats are 6m or over. It looks like max 4.5m is my limit. Thanks Conan p*************n (155 • 8:08 pm, Sat, 4 May )Gotcha, my other one is 5.2 also. If you have the skills to paddle a Quattro you might be OK in this one at 75kg on flat water, but it could be dodgy and leg length would need to be extended for an adult (not hard to lengthen, but footroom could be a problem). If you purchased and were too big when you picked up, I can cancel the sale and relist, alternatively you might be able to find a club near you that has one you could try? (would rather not ship/deliver unless you are sure it will work) 👍 ab1248 (286 • Saturday, 4 May 2024 )
