Description
I have owned this hunting rifle for around 20years. I have spent many hours developing loads using 2213SC and can easily achieve 3150FPS with Nosler 130gnBT's and 3000FPS with the 140gn. Velocities confirmed by chronograph while developing loads. One of the images shows two 3 shot groups with the 140 BT's. The rifle is based upon a FN action, commercially built control feed with a 25.5" barrel. No thread or suppressor. The weaver sits in steel leupold rings and bases and was their top model with the pop up turrets for dialling in and is the 2 - 10 power model. It does have a bullet drop reticle but I have not bothered as I zero for around 275-280 and use drop tables to dial in the elevation . That means around 3.5 " high at a hundred puts you on at 280 with a point blank of 300 near enough. Last deer shot was at 419 yards, range finder and drop tables etc off a bipod. The rig is around 4.2 KG with empty mag. I used a Spartan Javelin Pro Hunt bipod which added around 300 grams., which I'm keeping for the new rifle. The fore end has been extended at some point , I assume when the 25.5" barrel went on. It looks proportionate. The cheek riser is made of neoprene layers with camo tape to hold together. It disguises some wood working I had done to remove the roll over monte carlo as my son is left handed and it was not that comfortable when he shot from the left shoulder. It works well , gives some cushioning to the face and gets the eye to the ocular nicely. It has many years of life still and happy to provide some brass and load data if wanted.

Is that the original bolt? z***a (1062 • 1:07 pm, Sat, 11 May )That I'm not sure of, this is the way it was when I purchased it. Just had a look and the bolt has two digits on the extractor but they do not match the last digits on the serial number, so maybe its not. There is a proof mark under the bolt knob so worn that I cannot decipher it. Do you suspect that its not? Thanks. dpdesign (297 • Saturday, 11 May 2024 )Looks to me like a ZG47 bolt with that handle and safety sleeve. Better than the original! Could you provide a photo of the butt without coverings h*****h (77 • 7:38 pm, Sun, 12 May )Thank you for that, I thought it may have been BRNO but I don't know the models well enough, appreciate the heads up. Functions flawlessly. I'll add a photo later this evening showing the stock. Cheers, DP dpdesign (297 • Sunday, 12 May 2024 )Photos of stock added. Seller comment Sunday, 12 May 2024
