Billy is a 14.1hh Chestnut Gelding welsh cob/TB, registered partbred welsh. Lovely paces and very well schooled. In his 15 years, Billy has done a bit of everything from showing, jumping, pony club, eventing, cowboy challenge, trekking and hacking out, even went to show jump champs as a junior with previous rider. Has been quite successful at collecting ribbons at show days. Loves jumping as he was bred for it. Usually a happy chappy to school but keen and welsh. I have owned him since 2019 when he returned back to Canterbury from the West Coast. Originally bought for our then 12 year old, rider gave up through Covid so I borrowed a few different riders to get him out and about. I have tried to keep him ticking over with lunging and riding but I am older Mum, 170cm and no lightweight. Polite ground manners for size but can be a wee bit sensitive or take the piss. Ridden in a snaffle bridle, however I have seen photos of him being ridden bitless by his breeder. Would look great in western gear! Good to shoe, clip or float. Has been visited by vet for annual dental and a foot abscess in August 2023. Currently in light work with professional adult ready for someone to take over. Looking for a fun competent rider who needs a friend to share some pony days with. Does not need to be ridden daily. Being very up front that he can challenge riders ability initially but when you work with him, you will see he is a darling. Not for a beginner, a dummy or someone who is whip happy. Really would suit a C to C+ kind and keen teen or a small adult. 100% lovable and can be talkative. He is a nice pony and deserves someone equally as nice. We have recently found that he is terrified of pigs, and its a fear he is not going to get over. Based in Ashburton.
