This auction is for a stunning, vintage Queen Anne Dundee Thistle scalloped trio (cup, saucer and sideplate), c1950s.

*Dundee Thistle, Queen Anne fine bone china, England on bottom and the motto Wha Daur Meddle Wi’me. It is from the Latin motto "Nemo me impune lacessit" from the Scottish coat of arms which translates in English to "Wha daur meddle wi' me?" The title of an anonymous Scottish poem relating to military. "Nobody interferes with me with impunity". *This is a lovely vintage set overall, with some loss to the gold on the saucer and sideplate on the rims and a light rub/scrape, a couple of tiny nibbles on the base of the cup where you won’t see/notice them, a tiny brown pin spot on the underside of saucer which may be the smallest of nibbles. All of these are minor faults that won’t be noticed but I mention what I see. A few scratches on the pattern here and there. *Measurements: Pedestal cup 8.5cm diameter x 7cm high, saucer 14cm, side plate 16cm. *Note: Stand in photo not included.

Please remember when buying vintage items that they may have flaws. They are often one-off items we'll never see again and that's what makes them so special. I photograph all my items as best as I can and my phone often accentuates flaws and magnifies photos bigger than the item appears, so you can best see it. You may be pleasantly surprised when any flaws I point out or you see are not very noticeable to the human eye when you receive the item.
