This auction is for a gorgeous, vintage Beswick Beatrix Potter figurine - Sally Henny Penny, with the BP3b backstamp (see notes).

*Beswick Beatrix Potter’s "Sally Henny Penny" F. Warne & Co Ltd on bottom and c copyright 1974 Beswick England. *Measures approx. 10cm high x 7cm across. *In good vintage condition with a rub of paint missing on top of the feathers. A lovely piece with Sally Henny Penny and her chicks. *The Beswick Sally Henny Penny figurine was issued under three backstamps - BP3a, BP3b and BP3c. It was first introduced in 1974. The BP3b stamp is very similar to BP3a, but contains a copyright date. This stamp was issued from 1974 to 1985.
*Sally was finally retired in 1988 when Royal Albert took over production and continued the figure under its name until 1993.

*NOTE: Beware of people selling figurines with copyright plus an early date on them who are saying they are made in that year, eg copyright 1948. That is the date the company copyrighted the product design, not made the item they are selling. The original 1948 figurines do not have the date written on them. The figures that have c 1948 are much later models of the originals. Do your research - there are good sites that explain the Beswick backstamp dating of these figurines so you can be sure you are getting the correct figurine.
