Description
Super NZ made pottery coffee cannister from well-regarded "Beach Artware". Beach Artware were in production in west Auckland between 1971 and 1977. The pottery was owned by Peter and Eva Beach. Their chief potter was Daniel Steenstra. This cannister is marked on the base, "Traditional NZ". This is because the factory's full name was 'Beach Artware Traditional Pottery'. The cannister is in lovely condition and seems hardly used. It has a very nice deep blue glaze, with the addition of greys, greens and a metallic sparkle around the rim and lid. A seam at the side shows that it has a cast body. It measures approximately 20cm tall (including lid) × 12cm across.
