A stunning wee perfume bottle of cut crystal and sterling silver

Made in London

20th Century [1903]

Crystal is round and faceted at the base and near the top, with ferns cut inbetween. The bottle is covered by a screw on lid made of sterling silver.

The top is domed and has the full set of stamps and maker's marks on the lid.

Maker: Unknown but the company inporting silver into England was;

Barr, Moering & Co [BM & Co into a lozenge] is the stamp

First recorded in 1892 at 36 Camomile Street. Partners were William Moering and Philip Krieger. The firm acted as importing agents of German decorative silver London 1903 hallmark.

The assay stamps are worn and ilegible. The date 1903 fits well with the information I have found and the style of the bottle.

This piece is in very good condition, no chips or damage to the crystal and there is slight disfigurement on the lid.
