Description
Thin Lizzy were one of the greatest hard rock bands ever! With the gifted black Irish front man, the late Phil Lynott, the band not only had a sexy rock-god leader, but also an exceptional bass player, lyricist and songwriter.
Fighting is the album where everything jelled into place for the band. With the classic line-up featuring the tight ‘n’ heavy drumming of Brian Downey alongside Phil’s solid bass anchor with the dynamic twin guitars of Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham firing out tasty riffs and sinuous lead breaks. Check out some massive rockers here such as ‘Rosalie’, ‘For Those Who Love To Live’, ‘Ballad Of A Hard Man’, ‘Suicide’ and ‘Fighting My Way Back’ which showcases Brian Downey’s hard and funky drum fills.
There’s also a little light and contrast with sweet numbers like the wistful ‘Wild One’, the chiming, wind-swept vibe of ‘Spirit Slips Away’ and the tasty outlaw groove of ‘Freedom Song’.
Original 1975 NZ pressing on Vertigo/Phonogram Cat # 6360 121 Grading (cover/vinyl): VG+ / VG
