Description
SONGS FOR DRELLA-A Fiction-a musical look at the life of Andy Warhol performed by Lou Reed & John Cale commissioned by The Brooklyn Academy Of Music and The Arts At St. Ann's. Released in 1990 on the SIRE Label Pressed in the USA by Warner Bros, Marketed in NZ by Festival Records. This album is the first time Reed and Cale have collaborated in any music since the second VELVET UNDERGROUND album WHITE LIGHT/ WHITE HEAT in 1968 when the pair vowed to never work together again. The title Drella stems from Warhols nickname-a contraction of DRACULA and CINDERELLA, a name Warhol never liked but used widely by "his" crowd. The album received critical acclaim-being included in the best 20 albums of the 1990s. In fact it lead on to the first and last VELVET UNDERGROUND reunion tour. VINYL, COVER and PRINTED INNER IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WILL SHIP INTERNATIONALLY AT COST.
