Description
Original 1969 vinyl release on Pye Records from British psychedelic rock band Velvett Fogg.
Cat number NSPL 18272 Stereo
A significant album in the late 60's rock music scene, with tracks such as Yellow Cave Woman, and Plastic Man great examples of the psychedelic genre. Tony Lommi was a member in mid-1968, but soon left to form Black Sabbath. Similarities to other experimental rock bands such as the Velvet Underground are also noted.
The rather explicit cover was also controversial for the time.
Sleeve notes by BBC Radio One disk jockey John Peel
Not only very rare in this original 1969 pressing, but just a great album to enjoy.
Vinyl and Sleeve both VG to VG+
Sleeve: negligible fade, no record imprint, spine is excellent, small tear on the bottom right of the cover.
Vinyl has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty record cleaner and plays strong. Mainly some light crackle between songs and in quieter passages.
Track Listing: Side 1 Yellow Cave Woman New York Mining Disaster Wizard of Gobsolod Once Among The Trees Lady Caroline
Side 2 Come Away Melinda Owed to the Dip Within the Night Plastic Man

Questions & Answers (1)
appreciate the explanation on the vinyl grading but are there any visible marks to speak of? h*******t (182 • 5:08 pm, Sat, 11 May )Hi, there are some scratches, mostly very light. I did another test play of where the worst scratches look to be and it still sounded more like medium crackle just between the songs. There are a couple of quieter passages in some songs where some crackle can be heard while it is playing, but other than that I can't really hear any noise while the tracks are playing. I may have missed a few clicks because I haven't replayed the whole album, but I did initially and nothing jumped out at me. humberman (803 • Saturday, 11 May 2024 )
