Description
Please Note: The Lowden sold on Trademe.
Your chance to own one of David Benavides fine guitars (though I will be keeping the one he made for me in 2013). This is Number 108 so only a few years old but in as-new mint condition as hardly used (far too many guitars). Solid Engelmann spruce over beautifully figured solid mahogany with snakewood bridge, fretboard, strap peg and tuners. Snakewood is known as one of the most expensive woods in the world. It is prized for its unique appearance (like snake skin), durability and rot resistance. Snakewood is native to the coastal regions of northeastern South America. In the photo of the back, the dark bits are shade, not wood colour. The lighter bit is what I think is called sapwood. 16" lower bout, 1.75" nut width. Beautifully set up for fingerstyle. A joy to behold and hear. LR Baggs pick-up fitted by the maker. Test drive available in Havelock North. Link to a simple phone-recorded sample:
