New Yorks United Nations building has been featured prominently in many movies - most notably, perhaps, in Hitchcocks classic North By Northwest - but The Interpreter is the first film to be allowed to actually shoot inside the building - the ideal setting for a political suspense thriller.
Nicole Kidman stars as African-born UN interpreter, Silvia Broome who overhears a plot to assassinate an African head of state who is scheduled to address the General Assembly. Now a target herself, Silvia is desperate to prevent the murder if she can survive long enough to get someone to believe her.
Assigned to protect her is federal agent, Tobin Keller (Sean Penn), but as suspicion about Silvia herself grows, Tobin believes she has her own secrets and is not telling the whole truth. Is she a victim...or a suspect?
Note for DVD & Blu-Ray listings, TradeMe has removed their catelogue which included the photo of the artcover. During this transition, I will be progressively loading photos, I may have loaded a stock photo which may differ from the actual artcover
