This is an eye-catching decanter by Anneke Borren who

1. was born Holland 1946, started potting aged 12 and worked in the
   Delft Blue factory in Delft,
2. emigrated to N.Z. (in a family of ten) in 1963, settling in Wellington,
3. set up ceramic studio in Paraparaumu (Wellington) in 1969,
4. established ' Chez-Moi Pottery ' in Paremata (Wellington) in 1994,
5. was awarded MNZM in 2022.

Her works are in the permanent collection of Te Papa, the Christchurch Art Gallery and the Sarjeant Gallery, Whanganui.

It has a mid century look to it, particularly the ball stopper.

It measures 26 cm to the top of the stopper and a maximum diameter of about 17 cm.

It is quite a sophisticated piece of pottery with its rounded shape and vertical ribbing.

Anneke's under glazed painted mark is in the centre of the underside of the base.

The decanter is in very good condition with no faults, however, the cork that holds the ball stopper to the neck has been broken. It still sits there okay although it would be easy enough to remove it and glue in another one, if you wanted to use the decanter.
