Description
Late sixties Guyatone SG-32T hollow body guitar.
Demo video of this guitar posted here: https://youtu.be/6y-YDFS4WNo
In 1967-68 Guyatone were trying all sorts of stuff and this ornate machine got lots of bling! Believed it to have been bestowed with the longest production whammy bar in the world this ones bar is sadly gone AWOL sometime in the last nearly 60 years…… it happens.
I can get replacement reproductions but I don’t have one at this point in time and space.
The real star, however, is the pick guard material. Looking like it was sourced directly from the magma pools inside Mt Fuji it is installed all over, even the truss rod cover. It’s all very beautiful and trippy and blends perfectly with the rather beautiful sunburst finish.
There are two of the classic P90/Mosrite copy pickups, Guyatone’s best IMHO. Strong, crisp, with tons of character. Standard set up of a 3-way switch and a Vol and Tone for each pickup. Aside from the bridge, the entire guitar is original. The fully adjustable bridge is the correct radius, style and period for the guitar but I think it has been added. Anyway it works fine.
Frets and tuners both work fine. It’s a full hollow body guitar with a beautiful sunburst finish, bound body and neck. The neck has 24 3/4” scale, a modern feel, uses a zero fret, has good action and the intonation is set.
Few small dings and scratches but nothing significant. There is a little grainy pitting on the chrome parts but no flaking.
No case but will be pack exceptionally well to with stand the rigours of domestic travel!

how much for a repro whammy handle to go with the guitar? s***e (127 • 12:19 pm, Sat, 18 May )I'm happy to sort a repro whammy bar at no extra cost. Just might take a while. That stuff comes from the US and it's slow. However I am just about to place an order for a bunch of parts and I will get a couple of them anyway. randombob (711 • Saturday, 18 May 2024 )
