Diatomaceous Earth is a naturally occurring rock made from the skeletons of fossilised diatoms, a type of hard shelled algae and is 89 - 95% amorphous silica.

Silica is crucial to bones, tendons, skin, cartilage and blood vessels. Silica exists in the blood stream and vital organs. Among other things, enough silica in the body is vital for calcium absorption to allow calcium supplements to work.

It also contains 15 essential trace minerals including phosphorous, selenium, calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, copper, zinc and iron.
