I first listened to these when I went to collect a Pioneer Valve Amplifier that had undergone a full internal restoration. The Sansui's were connected to the Pioneer and the sound from them was just incredible. Emotional and alive, were my first thoughts. They have been restored including the woofer surrounds. The surrounds are made of cotton, which due to the treatments put on it go hard. By using a special solution it softens the surrounds, making them soft and pliable. I sold a pair of SP-1700s a couple of months ago, these are a BIG step up from those.

All drivers work as they should. 1 midrange has a wrinkle but it doesn't affect the sound as the mids barely move.

You can adjust the Mids and Treble via the controls on the back panel. The tweeters (2) are worth a mention as they are horns, adding another level to the complexity of the music. They sound Good though, Sansui made the right call using horns.

The woofer is a 12 inch version and helps get the Frequency Response down to 30Hz.

The SP-2500s are the high performance range and are also the most sought after. The grilles are in good condition and they still have the cardboard 'hang tags' which usually get lost or go missing.

They weigh 23kg each so are substantial and will be costly to freight. If you want them shipped Pack & Send could be the way to go. They can bubble wrap and box securely so that any risk is minimized. Although I do recommend taking out insurance.
