Description
The Apple eMate was introduced on 7th March 1997 for US$799 and was discontinued along with the Apple Newton product line and its operating system on 27th February 1998. That was well before the names iPhone and Siri meant anything to anyone, so unless you're a dyed-in-the-wool Apple fan, chances are you don't have one.
Since it was produced for such a short time, there are very few still floating around. It crops up on the internet every now and then, like some years ago with a buy-it-now price of $8,499.99 USD, to remind us just how far Cupertino has come, particularly in the last 26 years.
I'm sure it's value will go up every year so I'm also sure someone will want this little piece of Apple history.
This laptop comes as pictured, no charger, nor other bits and pieces. The pen (stylus) is the original one it came with new, which is even more rare then the computer it self as most people lost theirs as usual.
Parts and accessories like battery, memory card, etc. still available from overseas sources, in case you would like to bring this amazing piece of technology back to life. I'm sure all it needs is a new battery.
Check out this video, to see all features it's capable of: https://youtu.be/vkvvExeCtFI
It is quite fascinating to watch a video from 27 years ago and see technology that some manufacturers are still advertising as an advantage over competitors.
