Description
= THE TOPDRESSERS = By Janic Geelen
Original 1983 First Edition, published by NZ Aviation Press
Hardcover, 367 pages Generously illustrated with colour and black and white photos. Endpapers attractively illustrated with logos of various aerial spraying companies.
Tells for the first time the remarkable story of aerial topdressing in New Zealand. It begins with Len Daniell, who tried to interest the Government in providing an aircraft for trials in 1926, and ends with an industry poised on the brink of change. Explains how aircraft and aviators flew out onto the farm and fertilised vast areas of unproductive land from the air, an achievement unparalleled in modern agriculture, and significant in the history of world aviation.
The Binding is tight, and there’s no fading to the cover… there’s slight wear to the edges of the dust jacket (as shown in photos) otherwise this book is in very good condition for a book that is now 41 years old.
A very sound copy of this fascinating and informative history of Agricultural Aviation. I package books very well and I will send it by tracked, signature-required Courier, within NZ.
