Our Charcoal Maker is used in conjunction with the Serious Incinerator. Placed inside the incinerator, it is a retort unit that is designed to heat wood in the absence of oxygen. Once hot enough, gas escapes from the wood and is burned outside the unit, generating more heat to aid the process, until the wood is completely turned to charcoal. In response to repeated requests for the ability to make charcoal, we have developed this charcoal retort unit. Charcoal has many uses and is very popular in BBQ cooking circles, so the ability make your own charcoal is a very attractive option. Biochar is well recognized for soil health in gardening and agriculture, as well.
