On offer is a freeform polished point excavated from an aggregated matrix of copper ore. Shattuckite is a relatively scarce and a very minor source of copper ore. It forms under very special conditions in the presence of other copper minerals and commonly forms pseudomorphs of malachite. It is easily confused with Chrysocolla. Highly prized for its attractive blue/azure colour.

This mineral was first discovered and described from the Shattuck Mine in Bisby, Arizona. In its purest form it can be fashioned into highly prized cabochons which command a very high price. A very nice gap-filler for a mineral enthusiast or lover of nature's diverse art forms.
