Description
A New Zealand made fire. It's a sizeable unit. Having a large cook-top surface is a big bonus!
This has been sitting inside a firewood shed for past many years. Suits someone handy who understands that surface rust is not the end of the world.
The internal ceiling baffle is due for a replacement. It's basically a plate of steel which sits on brackets above the level of the fire bricks. Its purpose is to stop flames entering directly into the flue. One internal air tube also due. These parts can be ordered online or if you are handy enough you can fashion the baffle out of a steel plate and the airtube from a 25mm dia stainless steel tube. Please note: all these parts are 'wear-and-tear' components that are routinely replaced in All fires, just like tyres and brake pads of a vehicle.
Other than the unsightly surface rust which is due to sitting around for years, the actual firebox is in good order. Give it a wirebrush and a coat of stove blacking and it will look like a new one in no time!
