SEGA Thunder Blade Deluxe Arcade - Refurbished

Released in 1987, this classic machine was created by the same company who brought us Outrun, After Burner, Hang-on and Space Harrier. These ‘Deluxe’ simulator units from the 80’s are still considered by some to be the pinnacle of the arcade experience and it's easy to see why.

Thunder Blade has an awesome soundtrack with realistic stereo sound located behind your head, which sets the environment as you pilot a heavily equipped chopper through several stages. Multiple player perspectives provide a unique gameplay challenge, ensuring solid replay value.

This is the only surviving unit in the country as far as I am aware. I’ve never seen another in the last 25 years of working on these.

I have completely disassembled the machine and given it the treatment it deserves. Which as you’d expect, was quite a lot of work and took several months;

• Metal parts all stripped and powder-coated
• Installed a new high quality power supply
• New fluro light
• New LED’s and PSU in the seat back
• New plastic piece fabricated for the seat back
• The main seat plastic was repaired and strengthened
• New locks
• New decals on sides and rear
• New speakers
• New bolts all over
• New foot rest pads
• New power cable
• All other plastics were polished up with Novus
• New Manual printed and bound

The game PCB is in near mint condition. It had a minor issue originally, so I sent it to Australia where it was professionally serviced.

The monitor is nice and bright. It could probably use a service at some point but has been running solid to date.

The cabinet is a nice size too and would be a real talking point in any game room; (W) 90cm x (D) 170cm x (H) 167cm.
