Yeah it's very confusing, I had to do the same searching when posting the item. Google used the same model number between Gen2 and Gen3, where Gen2 has the chome logo, Gen3 has the G in the middle. They only changed to the new model number more recently from what I have read. 3rd gen is also matte black rather than glossy black.
