Hi Tom, I'm looking to buy a turntable. You write: "The tonearm balance weight has since detached". It looks like there is a threaded tube that the weight turns on, and it is the threaded tube that has detached from the main tube. Is any of the metal broken? Will it still fit on to the main tube (i.e even if it won't fix on semi-permanently, can you still put it into place?) Does it look daunting to fix? Have you investigated repair options? Thanks, Alan Pugh a****p (258 • 02:52 pm, Sun, 5 May )Hey Alan. You’re right about the threaded tube. It’s possible someone with the right gear could hurt-rig a fix without having to to source new parts. It doesn’t seem to me that any metal is broken but it’s hard to be sure. It’s clear the weight and tube were at some point reattached to the arm with araldite. And yes you can put it “into place” but I’m not interested in repair at this point. tomackroyd (28 • Sunday, 5 May 2024 )*jury-rig Seller comment Sunday, 5 May 2024 Hi can you post some photos of the glass platter without the wool mat?
