Nikon F100 body Interchangeable lens autofocus 35mm film SLR camera Nikon F mount

The Nikon F100 was released in 1999 and was Nikon's most advanced non-flagship film camera, with almost all of the specs of the Nikon F5 in a smaller form factor. It features 10-segment matrix metering, full PASM exposure modes (program, aperture priority, shutter priority, manual), 5 autofocus points, continuous shooting at 4.5fps, ISO range from 6-6400 (25-5000 with DX-coded films) and shutter speeds from 30s-1/8000s and bulb. In addition, 22 custom settings let you customise the camera to your shooting style, such as enabling back-button focusing.

MAINTENANCE PERFORMED The plastic film door latch is a known point of failure on this model, and this latch was broken off when I received the camera. I installed a repair kit purchased from overseas, which replaces and enhances the latch with a piece of machined steel. I still recommend holding the door hook open when opening and closing the film door to reduce stress on this contact point.

APPEARANCE Great cosmetic condition with a minor signs of use. The battery holder has a small crack in the base (another known failure point) and is slightly misshapen when batteries are installed, but it fits securely when inserted. The film door is known to get sticky, but the rubbery coating has been cleaned off, leaving some lighter residue stains. The small rubber cover for the bottom power pack port is missing.

OPTICS Focusing screen is clean with a few tiny bits of dust. There is some slight fungus on the viewfinder glass but this is not noticeable when you put your eye up to the camera.

FUNCTIONALITY All functions are working as expected.
