Description
A highly attractive 'Tuia' vintage sewing machine.
Is deactivated (plug has been removed - see photo), I think due to its age. It looks to have been in active use before then. This is a display object, rather than an object for use.
The Tuia brand name is highly unusual (I can find no instance of it on the Internet). I think it must be a New Zealand brand name, as 'Tuia' means 'sew' in Maori. The brand also has a bird logo. Certainly a conversation piece.
Though it has a carry case, it does weigh a lot. Unsure how much, but I estimate more than 12kg.
