Seven years ago we purchased a portable cabin for our own personal use and looked to see what systems were available to manage the cabins black and grey wastewater. Existing products that were overpriced, of poor design, unreliable, or cheaply made. We decided to build our own portable pump system, connected it our cabin and it worked perfectly. We named the product ‘BLACKBOX’ and listed it on trademe. To date we have sold around 500 BLACKBOX systems and have expanded the range to 5 different models. Many of our sales are now from customers referrals to their friends, colleagues, architects and plumbers.

(Josh) We build portable accommodation and find the black box macerator to be a great unit. They are located outside the building so that if there is ever a blockage/leak or any other problem, there is no mess inside and the toilet doesn’t have to be removed to get access like other macerator units. These are a great solution!
