Aunt Louisa’s Sunday Picture Book
Comprising: Joseph and his Brethren – The Story of King David – The Wonders of Providence – The Proverbs of Solomon.
Published by Frederick Warne and Co (London) – no date (ca 1872) 23 plates (with 2 illustrations on each) printed in colours by Kronheim and Co. 23.5cm x 27cm.
Hardback: has been rebound in cloth with gilt title on the spine, a few marks on the back, new endpapers, contents are printed on one side of cloth backed paper, there is one colour plate missing (frontispiece ?) and I’m not sure if the text is complete (there is a colour plate with no text opposite at the end of the book), internal foxing, some wear on the page edges, pencil scribbles on one colour plate plus a few pages – still an OK copy.
I am listing items from my late mother’s vast children’s book collection so keep checking back for more treasures. Always happy to combine postage where possible.
