Reproduction of a work by the one of the most famous (worldwide) Chinese contemporary artists, Yue Minjin. Bought at an art market in Shanghai on our way home from Europe in 2012, after seeing a retrospective of his work at the Foundation Cartier in Paris. We bought a number of reproductions of his work and have some framed but two (see my other listing) have remained in a drawer so it's time to let them go. There are many very good artists who produce reproductions of famous works, to make a living in China, as there is a thriving market in reproductions there. Although this is not an original work (which few could afford!), it is a good reproduction of the original work, in acrylic on canvas. Hard not to smile when looking at Minjun's work :-) Please note, auction is for painting in the first photo - later photo is to show other examples of Yue Minjin's work.
