Description
A neat looking, perhaps antique, (1920s - 30s perhaps ??) or at least very retro, original watercolour of a river & country side setting, signed W.M. Farrer - Bulls (it may be a Bulls area scene) The framers JP Cooke & Sons Ltd (Nelson) went out of business in 1944) It is framed and glassed and in reasonably good condition for an older piece. Frame is good and solid, but has some minor marks, scrapes, paint chips etc etc, needs a clean but all quite livable & fine. (would look better with a quick clean up and repaint) The painting itself looks good, but does have some browning or light water stain perhaps. mostly LH & RH bottom, and a smidge up top RH corner. But again, goes with the age and not a biggy for most people. The glass needs a clean inside & out, and am sure with a good glass clean inside it would look better. Its a nice piece really. Has the cord at the back for hanging. The framer was JP Cooke & Sons Ltd Nelson (Royal Blue House) Frame measures approx 325mm x 250mm. What you can actually see of the painting itself measures approx 250mm x 170mm. Good piece if you know the area or the artist or if you have the place for it. We allow pickups, but if you do not want to pickup, then we can send for you, on your behalf, at your risk. (couriers & PO do not cover art, antiques, collectables and a whole lot of other things - so again, sent at your risk) Thanks. refN2656620B
