A neat watercolour signed G Bennett (George Bennett) as per photos. (except that camera flash can change colours & shades etc and make things look brighter & better than they really are)

It shows 'The Battery' used by the Royal Ulster Yacht Club, Bangor in Ireland, to fire guns or sound horns for their races. Apparently this small building sits off the Seacliff Road, directly opposite the RUYC at Luke's Point. The battery only seems to be the small square building on the left. The low building on the right doesn't seem to be in use at all (but perhaps is a storehouse) and according to the 1901 OS maps this was in use as a bathing house. On the back of the painting it gives a bit of its history & who it was given to (by Mrs Bennett in 1982) The painting is quite neat and has a good link to those who have an interest in the Royal Ulster Yacht Club. Or just good for those who collect George Bennett art work. The painting is good, but does have some brown spotting, mostly in the clouds, and almost fit in, so to me, its not too much of a problem. It is glassed. The frame measures approx 490mm x410mm. The frame has light marks & scrapes, etc, but all liveable. What you can actually see of the painting itself measures approx 390mm x 300mm odd. Good piece for the right person.
