Lone Star Seed Company was founded in 1920 by brothers from Syracuse, N.Y., Paul W. Roberts and Roland C. Roberts. Packets were sold in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The company was one of the last in the USA to sell its seeds on consignment, from wire racks placed in drugstores, department stores and feed, grocery, hardware and variety stores.
