Hanging scroll in great condition
The cold wind from the Great Wall once made the thin Wu Guangquan suddenly seriously ill, and almost made him unable to pick up a paintbrush after painting Chinese paintings for 56 years. As a responsible painter, he knew that as time went by, the original ancient Great Wall became increasingly rare, and its true historical artistry would become more important. He did not wait for his body to fully recover before he started taking action again. In order to experience firsthand the different feelings the Great Wall brings to him, Wu Guangquan, who is over 70 years old, often walks thousands of miles and then writes to seek truth for the Great Wall, beauty for art, and innovation for himself.
He spent more time searching for the Great Wall than painting it. The Great Wall truly stood up on paper and became a real subject in the creation.
In his works, although some parts of the Great Wall only have a faint trace of soil left over the years, despite his careful and unique artistic expression, people still dare not take a look at them. For example, he painted "The Great Wall at Sanguankou" in Helan Mountain. There is only one incomplete earthen wall of the Great Wall, but under the artist's realistic and emotional pen, the composition is both real and full of imagination: on the green grass, the yellow-brown earthen wall of the Great Wall is winding, and in the movement, Shaped like a dragon and a snake in Daze, among the clouds, water, and mountains, it
