Description
While engaged by the Dutch East India Company, in the search for new and profitable lands, Able Tasman sighted the New Zealand coast On 13 December 1642. The billowing surf and rocky shore made landing impossible and he altered course to the north and sailed up the West Coast.
This New Zealand 1840 to 1940 Centennial stamp outlines his route and chart of New Zealand's West Coast.
The stamp is partially adhered to the inside cover as shown.
A few pages have been removed from the back of this old letter-writing carbon copybook.
Condition as shown. Thanks for looking, take a peak at my other collectibles.
