Description
A beautiful Kauri Turned Bowl with Lid from beams in the old Auckland Farmers Freezing Works building on Kings Wharf, when the building was erected approximately 1873. Buy a piece of New Zealand history. The logs would have been hauled from Northland by oxen and flushed down the logging creeks by man-made floods, by sailing down the Hauraki Golf to the steam mills in Freemans Bay.
Perfect to use with salad oil, Kauri has no smell of its own, will not smother your spices or greens.
Turned by Frank Brough ftom Browns Bay
In good preloved condition, for its age. It will need a good clean when it arrives. I am hesitant to sell it but I need the money.
17cm high x 22cm diameter.
I am always happy to combine courier if you buy more than one of my auctions. Please ask.
Please check the photographs, as they are of the actual item, and I would hate you to be disappointed in any way.
