This beautiful slice of petrified wood originates from Java. Formed deeply in the earth over 100 million years ago, it once stood proudly as a living tree. Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions buried many forests and silica replaced organic matter in time, under lots of pressure. The presence of certain metals determine the colour that the new minerals will present. Nature will never fail to amaze us! Beautiful as an ornament in your lounge or garden but as well very useable to be made as a side table as of course it is stone now.
