Description
Two items relating to WWII.
Present are:
- A photograph - "Lone Soldier", and
- History of the Second World War Vol 1.
Interestingly, the framed photographic image "Lone Soldier" is incorrectly described as being WWI. It's actually an image taken at El Alamein(WWII), North Africa by the renowned Australian photographer Frank Hurley(1885-1962). Hurley is famous as the photographer onboard Shackleton's stranded Endurance expedition and who captured the iconic images of their plight. The image measures 19cm by 14cm(the wooden frame 32cm by 27cm), it's protected behind glass, in good condition and ready to hang.
The black folder is Vol 1 of "History of the Second World War" and contains Pg 1 to Pg 448 of the weekly magazine publication; spanning the subjects "Before the Blitzkrieg" to "Hitler's New Order". Condition is good and appropriate to it's vintage age and handling.
