Purchased at a market in Kyoto in 2006, this medal is in excellent condition.
To honor those individuals who contributed to the Red Cross during World War II, the Japanese Government established the Red Cross medal. This medal, awarded to men, is comprised of the medal and ribbon (women's medal featured a bow). The Blue rosette indicates the recipient was a lifetime member of the Red Cross Society.
